The written examination for all school teachers will be objective and multiple choice (MCQ Objective) based. Negative markings will be given for each wrong answer. According to the Resolution Memorandum No. 2374, dated 16.07.2007 and letter no. 6706, dated 01.10.2008, of the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, Bihar, 40% for the general category candidates, 36.5% for the most backward candidates It will be mandatory to obtain minimum qualifying marks of 34% for reserved category candidates and 32% for SC/ST, women and disabled (Divyang) candidates. Otherwise, they will be out of the competitive examination.

Candidates can choose any one subject in which they have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test. If the candidate has passed the Teacher Eligibility Test in one or more subjects. In that case, also candidates can choose only one subject of their choice.
